Velvet (Standard):
This finish has a velvet / matte sheen, with a lightly textured surface. It compliments all types of prints and general media in most every lighting situation. Its texture diffuses light and is well suited for direct light applications. This finish maintains the highest level of durability; DuraPlaqs™ with this finish are difficult to scratch making them easy to handle and clean. This finish is best suited for high traffic, public areas, thus, making it the most popular and versatile finish.
Semi-Matte:
This soft, non-reflective finish is good for direct-lit pictures, cutting glare yet sacrificing no color detail. This finish works well with all media including canvas. The semi-matte finish can scratch and should be handled with additional care.
Matte:
This is the highest quality matte finish on the market today. It is well suited for high light environments giving a great view of the art from any angle. It can be utilized on any media or print type. It is possible to scratch its smooth surface; nonetheless, it should be handled with additional care.
Satin:
The satin sheen works best to compliment inkjet prints and canvas prints as it enhances color saturation and contrast. Satin finish will maintain the smooth, glossy picture appearance and sacrifices no color detail. Nonetheless, this ultra-smooth, high gloss finish is less durable and can be scratched over time if proper care is not taken. This finish is well suited and popular for fine art applications.
As with all of the finishes, eco-friendly options are available however they impact the finish’s ability to hold up over time.
